Information We Collect

DerbyOn may collect the following information when you use the app:

• Name and email address for account creation, login, and profile features.
• User ID and authentication information to operate your account securely.
• Precise location data while recording an activity or participating in a race.
• Fitness and activity data such as distance, duration, route progress, and achievements.
• Challenge, race, leaderboard, invitation, notification, and other app usage data.
• Subscription status and purchase identifiers needed to validate and restore purchases. Apple processes payment information; DerbyOn does not receive your full payment-card details.
• App and device diagnostics, screen visits, coarse product-interaction events, masked session replays, and error reports used to understand app usage and resolve reliability problems.
• Device push notification token if you enable notifications.

How We Use Information

We use this information to provide app functionality, including:

• Creating and managing your account.
• Recording activities and calculating progress.
• Syncing live race and challenge data.
• Showing leaderboards, achievements, notifications, and profile information.
• Validating subscriptions and restoring purchased Premium access.
• Measuring feature usage and diagnosing crashes, errors, and usability problems.
• Maintaining app security, reliability, and customer support.

Global Leaderboard and Public Scores

DerbyOn uploads activity-derived scores and reputation information to operate its challenge and global leaderboard features. The global leaderboard is visible to other DerbyOn users and may show your display name, profile image, XP, level, tier, total score, and rank. Challenge leaderboards may show your display name, profile image, distance, progress, completion status, and rank to other challenge participants.

By creating an account and participating in DerbyOn's leaderboard and challenge features, you consent to this server upload and visibility. You can remove this information by deleting your account in the app or contacting support using the address below.

Location Data

DerbyOn uses precise location data only when needed for map display, activity recording, and race or challenge progress. Background location may be used during an active recording session so your progress can continue to be tracked while the app is not on screen.

Advertising and Tracking

DerbyOn does not use collected data for third-party advertising and does not sell personal information. DerbyOn does not use collected data to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Third-Party Services

DerbyOn uses services including Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification service, map providers, Apple In-App Purchase, and PostHog. These providers process information only as needed to provide authentication, notifications, maps, subscriptions, product analytics, privacy-masked session replay, and error diagnostics, subject to their own privacy terms.

DerbyOn configures PostHog in the European Union region. The analytics integration does not intentionally send names, email addresses, authentication credentials, precise GPS coordinates, recorded routes, invitation codes, or purchase receipts. Replay masks text and images and is disabled on sensitive authentication, profile, map, recording, and subscription screens.

Retention, Consent, and Data Deletion

We retain account and activity information while your account remains active and for only as long afterward as needed for security, legal, dispute-resolution, and operational obligations. Analytics and diagnostic information follows the retention period configured with the applicable service provider.

You can delete your account from Profile in the app or contact support to request access, correction, or deletion. Account deletion removes or anonymizes associated account and leaderboard information unless retention is required by law or for security and fraud prevention. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent by contacting support; withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before the request.

DerbyOn uses Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
